I connected with this piece a lot, Ashley, and I have similar inadequacy feelings. My husband and I also have the kind of relationship where we both need outside nudges because we don’t always go the mile (or inch) for ourselves. But what I connected with most is needing to save my family, or thinking that “when I make it,” I’ll be able to fix their problems or at least pay for the tools they need.
