God vs. The Universe

I’ve been angry at God before, and when that happened, I let go of who I thought It was. In doing so, I found The Universe — but are they different?

Is the beating of your heart not God?

Is the annoying mockingbird with that incessant singing not God?

Are the trees not?

Perhaps my anger was less at God and more at what I’d believed It to be: A big man in the sky — higher power — determining my life on no one’s behalf but his own.

Who is God to you? What about The Universe? Is it all the same?
